Description by couchtuner for Back in Time for Christmas Episode 2 : Having endured the unappetising Christmasses of the 40s, 50s and 60s, the Robshaws now get a taste of more recent Christmas-pasts. We went from the laughter of Morecambe and Wise to the misery of EastEnders on the telly, and instead of finding a clementine and a Peter and Jane book in their stockings, kids were unwrapping Now That’s What I Call Music CDs and Game Boys.
Of course turkey was still the traditional centrepiece of Christmas lunch, and the more sophisticated among us drank wine with it (although initially it was probably only Blue Nun). But by the end of the century, Christmas Day had turned into an all-you-can-eat-and-drink marathon.
