Using old photographs Finn tracks down his real father,Dan,who has terminal cancer but is being kept alive by his daughter Grace,using the power she got in the storm. Dan tells Finn that he is in pain and wants Grace to let him die but she is unhappy when Finn confronts her with her father’s request,saying she does not want to be alone.
